Psychosocial Well-Being Affects Migrant Workers Women: The Case of Indonesia Women in Malaysia

This study was conducted to identify the psychosocial condition, quality of life and social well-being of the family among foreign Indonesian women workers working in Malaysia. Quantitative research methodology using survey method (questionnaire form) conducted on 133 respondents among Indonesian women workers working in Malaysia. The findings of the study on the psychosocial condition of Indonesian migrant workers in Malaysia based on the opinion of their family members as a whole are at a moderate level. However, in terms of the quality of life of the family as a whole, the results of the study show that it is improving in all aspects such as clothing needs, ownership assets, housing and health except education and social protection. Similarly, from the aspect of social well-being of the family, the results of the study show that the change becomes more positive. It can therefore be concluded that the results of this study have contributed to the theory and application in the field of international migration related to the well-being of a migrant worker when outside his or her area.
