Arthropod-borne viruses affecting the central nervous system

2015
Arboviruses or arthropod-borne viruses are a group of viruses that affect the central nervous system and have a lot of similarities in their clinical and epidemiologic aspects. They have an RNA genome but do not constitute a formal virologic taxonomic group. These viruses usually have avian or mammalian reservoir hosts and humans are infected when they are bitten by a mosquito or arthropod.
