Exact anhydride: epoxy percentages for araldite and araldite-epon embedding.

Calculations that take into account weight per epoxy (WPE) values of resins allow production of embedding blocks with consistent cutting qualities, whether the epoxy resins are used singly or in combination. Percentage tables are presented for anhydride combinations with variation of the Araldite WPE values. A worksheet is provided for determining anhydride: epoxy percentages when Araldite—Epon resin combinations are employed. Comparisons in cutting qualities are made with blocks (both blanks and with tissue) varying in anhydride: anhydride cutting qualities, and epoxy: epoxy ratios.
