A Case of Late Solar Maculopathy

Solar makulopati; makulanin gunes isinlarina direkt maru- ziyeti sonucu olusan makuler hasar olarak tanimlanir. Makuler hasarin temelinin gunes isiginin retina uzerindeki fotokimyasal ve termal etkilerin kombinasyonu sonucu olustugu dusunulmektedir. Bu olgu sunumunun amaci; gorme azligi sikayeti ile olan ve bilateral gec donem solar makulopati tanisi konan 46 yasindaki bir olgunun; optik koherens tomografi ve fundus flouresan anjiografi bulgu- lari ile beraber degerlendirilmesi ve tartisilmasidir. Solar maculopathy is defined as a macular damage induced by direct exposure to sunlight. The basis of the maculopa- thy is thought to be the result of the combination of photo- chemical and thermal effects of the sunlight on retina. The aim of the present case report is to evaluate and discuss a 46-years old patient who have diagnosed as bilateral late solar maculopathy in the light of optical coherence tomog- raphy and fundus flourescein angiography findings.
