The luminescent pointing device (30), which uses a cover part (24) as the light-guiding optical member, comprises a stray light preventing prism (19A), upon the rear surface of the cover part (24), which changes the path of light that is emitted by a light source (16), and that is incident to the image capture element (15) without traversing an image forming element (14).
