Apparatus and method for monitoring and compensating meander of conveyer-belt

PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for monitoring and compensating meandering of a conveyer belt are provided to compensate meandering without stopping the conveyor belt and minimize the number of maintenance checks, thereby improving work efficiency. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for monitoring and compensating meandering of a conveyer belt comprises an image sensing unit(210), a determining unit(230), a controller(240), and a meandering correcting unit(250). The image sensing unit takes images of the conveyer belt and generates the corresponding image signals. The determining unit determines meandering of the conveyer belt based on the image signals from the image sensing part. The controller generates a meandering correction signal when meandering is determined by the determining unit. The meandering correcting unit rotates a frame supporting transfer rollers based on the meandering correction signal from the controller, thereby compensating the meandering.
