The effect of individualized education on the self-management ability in elderly patients with metabolic syndrome

Objective To investigate the impact of individualized education on the self-management ability in elderly patients with metabolic syndrome.Methods A total of 84 cases with elderly metabolic syndrome were enrolled as the subjects and divided into two groups randomly.The patients in the experimental group were given individualized education,and the patients of control group were given common health education.Their management of the disease and the self-management ability before and after individualized education were compared.Results Tbe patient ’s knowledge mastery ability and self-management ability were significantly improved after education.Conclusions Individualized education in elderly patients with metabolic syndrome can improve the management of the disease and self-management ability significantly.
