Numerical solution of the problem of thermoplasticity for welded shell structures heated by a moving heat source

1996
A numerical solution is suggested for the thermoplasticity problem for flattened shells heated by moving heat sources distributed over areas. Plastic flow theory associated with the Mises flow condition is used. As an example numerical calculations are provided for estimating the efficiency of reducing the level of residual stresses by moving heat sources over a welded plate.
