Eksploatacja obiektu hotelowego na przykładzie hotelu "Copernicus" w Krakowie

2010
Dynamic growth is forecast for Poland's hotel market, as it is regarded to be one of the most promising markets in Europe. Further market growth is also predicted for the city of Cracow, where there are far too few accommodation units given the skyrocketing number of tourists. Over 50 motions are currently awaiting decisions that would enable investments to be realized. One of the 97 hotels in Cracow is the prestigious four-star Hotel Copernicus, located in an old apartment building once owned by Cracow's Canons, at 16 Kononicza Street, in the very heart of the city. The hotel has been owned by the Likus family and their company, Holding Liwa Ltd, since 1996. The building has been added to the register of monuments and belongs to Relais and Chateux, a chain known to demand the finest quality of services. The article looks at the hotel's operations and activity, taking into consideration indicators for the extent of the building's usage, which can be considered relatively high, and the rules of accounting for the bills and their structure, income, business costs, which are separate for the hotel and restaurant, and the financial results the business has achieved. As the analysis indicates, the "worst" period for the hotel was 2006, the result of a costly renovation and nearly two-month suspension of business. The hotel carefully crafts its marketing activity, which includes internal and external marketing, partnerships, or a combination of these elements, which is to say mixed marketing.
