Catalytic hydrogenation of 2-furyl-1,3-dioxacyclanes on platinum and palladium

1. Tetrahydrofuran derivatives and partial hydrogenolysis products are formed when furan 1,3-dioxacyclanes are hydrogenated on Pt and Pd. 2. The ratio of the yields of the hydrogenation and hydrogenolysis products as a function of the structure of the acetals and the employed catalyst was established.
