PROPAGATION OF ACOUSTIC SIGNALS THROUGH EDDIES IN THE OCEAN WATER MEDIUM

1991
The paper presents investigation results of acoustic signal propagation with different frequencies through a warm synoptic eddy in the Northwest Pacific in the Kuroshio current system. First, sound propagation was studied when sound sources were towed through an eddy at a certain depth. Second, acoustic signals were studied when radiated from different points of the water medium from where sound sources were submerged to different depths up to 800 m. Signal radiation points were located at different distances from the eddy core.
