Multifocal alopecia areata during systemic cyclosporine A therapy.
1999
Alopecia areata (AA) is an autoimmune disease with a T cell reaction against the hair follicle. Cyclosporine A (CsA) is an immunosuppressive drug, and reports of improvement of AA following treatment with this drug have been described. We report an additional case of a young child taking CsA after a kidney transplantation where multifocal AA occurred.
