Determination of Icariin Epimedium from Different Haital in China by HPLC

Objective To compare the contents of icariin in epimedium from different habital and variety.Methods Establish the new HPLC examination method,determine the content of icariin.Results The content is high in Hanzhong of Shanxi province,and the content of icariin which achieves 1.33%,is the highest in North Korea's.the content of icariin is 1.8 times of the same habitat.Conclusion The contents of icariin from different habitats are significantly different.Habitats and variety Effect the quality of herbs.
