Capacity of lateral stormwater inlets

A numerical procedure for the analysis of plane frames of an elastic, perfectly plastic material is presented. The problem is a quadratic programming problem and an algorithm for the solution is given which permits the analysis of frames in the elastic-plastic range. The analysis can be applied to either steel or reinforced concrete frames within the range of acceptable hinge rotations.
