Short estrous cycles and associated serum progesterone levels in beef cows.

Abstract Short estrous cycles in beef cows were investigated in two experiments. In trial 1, breeding dates from 2,854 fall-calving Angus cows were used to determine the incidence of short estrous cycles. Of 198 cycles of less than 17 days, 170 were between the first and second detected estrus.
