Este artigo aborda questoes relacionadas a natureza da disciplina escolar, em especial, a Quimica no curriculo do Ensino Medio, contextualizado nas praticas do cotidiano escolar. Essas questoes sao articuladas a formacao docente, com foco na identidade profissional disciplinar. Para isso, sao trazidas as investigacoes desenvolvidas nos ultimos anos no Programa de Pos-Graduacao em Educacao da Faculdade de Educacao da Unicamp. Como conclusao, e possivel apontar possibilidades de reconfiguracao da natureza dessa disciplina escolar, a qual parece estar sob rasura nas praticas curriculares do Ensino Medio brasileiro Palavras-chave Curriculo; Ensino Medio; disciplina escolar Abstract This article discusses issues related to the nature of a school subject, in particular chemistry, in high school curriculum contextualized in the practices of everyday school life. These issues are articulated to teacher education with a focus on professional disciplinary identity. To achieve this, researches developed in the Pos-Graduation Program of the Education College, Unicamp, are examined. In conclusion, it is possible to think about possible changes in the configuration of this school subject, due to apressure in the school curriculum practices in Brazil Keywords Curriculum; high school; school subject.
