Algebraic misconceptions: An intervention

Welder (2012) states that throughout historical and contemporary research, students have widespread misconceptions and difficulties when learning algebra. Some of my Year 9 students have a lot of difficulty learning algebra and hence I decided to investigate some common algebraic misconceptions which my students have experienced.
