'Lereis, o Tántale' en "Diálogos de los muertos" 7.2, análisis y traducción

2014
In Dialogues of the Dead 7 Menippus of Gadara tries to convince Tantalus that his punishment in the Hades is a fictional one. This is clearly expressed by the use of the verb ληρέω to describe Tantalus’ behaviour (Dmort. 7.2). In this paper we are concerned with explaining if, from Menippus’ point of view, Tantalus is an intencional liar or he suffers some type of mental disease that makes him hallucinate. Depending on our interpretation, we shall translate (and understand) ληρέωas “speak foolishly” or “to be delirious”.
