THE ACOUSTICAL DESIGN OF FILM STUDIO OF SPEECH

In this paper the acoustical design of film studio is discussed. Sound absorbing construction of perforated sheet, glasswool blanket, semicolumn of plywood, changeable absorbing plate and rotatable column are studied. The film studio has been built, and it is evident that the best results are obtained. The reverberation time in the 125 Hz to 4000 Hz range is nearly constant. When all the sound absorbing plates and columns are opened or closed, the reveberation time can be changed from 0.6 sec to 1.0 sec. A high degree of sound diffusion, ideal definition and fullness of tone have been provided, and the microphones can be placed safely in almost any convenient position.
