Experimental Study on Treatment of Tailwater From Sewage Plant by Natural Zeolite/Activated Carbon

2018
Activated carbon and natural zeolite were used to treat the tailwater of sewage plant, and the different removal effect of two kinds of fillers on the main pollution indexes COD,TP and NH3-N in the tail water were studied. Under the NH3-N concentration of 5 mg/L in the tail water of the sewage treatment plant, the removal rate of NH3-N by natural zeolite was more than 90%. The tail water with 80 mg/L COD concentration was treated with activated carbon, and the removal rate was over 85%. The effect of the two kinds of fillers on the removal of TP was not high. In the process of depth treatment, TP can be removed by adding coagulant, and natural zeolite and activated carbon can be used to improve the water quality of the tail water from the first A standard of sewage discharge to the type IV water standard of the surface water.
