Соціально-економічні проблеми розвитку сільських територій: регіональний аспект

The complex of scientific, methodological and practical problems of socio-economic development of rural areas in Volyn region was investigated in the group monograph. It analyzed the current state of the demographic situation in rural areas, investigated the labor market and defined the trends of farms development and their main task at this stage. It also identified a number of socio-economic problems of the private farms and reasonable prospects of their development through cooperation and agro-industrial integration. Further more it analyzed and estimated current state of wages and productivity in agricultural enterprises of different organizational management forms, investigated major trends in income and expenditure levels of rural households. This monograph has ultimately evaluated the actual level of food security the choice of strategy to ensure it. On a complementary track, SWOT technique was used to analyze the process of rural employment formation in Volyn. The Monograph developed strategic directions for solving likely socio-economic problems of rural development. The solution approach was based on diversification of agribusiness and eco-tourism development in rural areas on one hand and the revival of social infrastructure on the other hand. It also enhanced the role of rural communities and the use of European experience. This research work would be of interest for scientists, managers and specialists of the agricultural sector, employees of state and local governments, teachers, students, doctoral students, graduate students and all those interested in the problems of socio-economic development of rural areas.
