A fluororesin composition comprising - a copolymer [FEP] based on tetrafluoroethylene / hexafluoropropylene, - 0.01-3 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of FEP of polytetrafluoroethylene [PTFE] having a standard specific gravity of 2.15 -2.30, measured by water replacement method according to ASTM D 4895-89, where the alkali metal content, based on the solid matter of the resin composition is <5 ppm, as measured by the method of calcining defined herein and said composition is obtainable by a method comprising the steps of (1) obtain a fluororesin powder co-coagulated by mixing together an aqueous dispersion containing FEP and an aqueous dispersion containing PTFE followed by coagulation, (2) melt extruding the coagulated powder co-, and (3) subjecting unstable terminals in the PTFE and FEP to stabilization treatment comprising contacting the pellets fluororesin obtained in step (2) with a compound containing fluorine, the fluorine-containing compound is a source of radicals fluorine radical generating fluoride treatment conditions fluorination and is selected from F2 gas, CoF3, AgF2, UF6, OF2, N2F2, CF 3 and halogen fluorides.
