In the present study, two attitudes toward death are concerned: the Anxiety and the Fascination. The Death Anxiety referred to the fear of death in the general meaning. The Death Fascination contained the cognitive interest in death and dying and the acceptance of committing suicide by examined persons. Among 149 subjects were tested the relation between attitudes toward death, the Big Five model by Costa and McCrae and the basie components of temperament postulated by Strelau. The regression analyses showed that the Death Fascination did not depend on temperament. The level of Death Anxiety inereased with the level of Emotional Reactivity. The level of Death Anxiety inereased with the level of Neuroticism and Extraversion. The level of Death Fascination inereased with the level of Neuroticism.
