Magnetization Properties for YBa2Cu3O7 Bulk Fabricated by Seed Process in High Magnetic Fields

1999
Seed process in high magnetic fields using an 11 T cryocooled superconducting magnet was carried out to improve crystallinity of melt-textured YBa2Cu3O7 bulk. YBa2Cu3O7 bulk samples were fabricated by the high field heat-treatment at about 1000 °C for 4 days in several constant fields up to 10 T. X-ray rocking curves of the (006) reflection for bulk samples prepared in fields reveal sharp full width half-maximum values ranging from 0.8 ° at 0 T to 0.1 ° at 10 T. Magnetization properties for seed-processed YBa2Cu3O7 bulk were evaluated at 77.3 K in field up to 6 T and at 4.2 K in fields up to 23 T for B//c-axis.
