The analysis of economic benefit about the application of PlusICE thermal energy storage beams to chilling water pipes

2000
Plus ICE thermal energy storage beams produced by EPS Company in England have many advantages in storing high or low temperature energy for later use. Take a market building in Taiyuan of China, through the analysis of the local ambient temperatures which change along with time in a year's air conditioning operation period, and determine the optimum phase change temperature and the capacity of the Plus ICE Thermal energy storage beams. Install them in chilling water pipes. When the chilling water runs through the pipes at night, low temperature energy can be stored in the PlusICE thermal energy storage beams. When the chiller runs in daytime when it has high temperature, low temperature energy stored can be released to lower the temperature of the chilling water in order to reduce the energy consumption. By comparing initial investment and running cost with the conventional chiller system determine economic benefit. Propose that applying PlusICE thermal energy storage beams to chilling water pipes is a useful approach to lower energy consumption.
