Relationship between lansoprasol triple therapy effect and alleles of vacuolating cytotoxin genotype in patients with gastric ulcer

2014
Objective To investigate the relationship between lansoprasol triple therapy effect and alleles of vacuolating acytotoxin(VacA) genotype in patients with gastric ulcer. Methods From Jan.2010 to Jan.2012,150 patients with gastric ulcer were enrolled. All the patients were treated with clarithromycin, amoxicillin and lansoprasol.Helicobacter pylori was isolated and cultured.PCR was used to detect the Helicobacter pylori strains VacA gene subtypes. Results Helicobacter pylori was eradicated in 130 cases (90.2%) of the 144 patients who had completed the treatment. The bacteria from 144 patients were genotyped. The significant disease-associated difference in patterns was observed.VacA ml allele was represented more disproportionately among patients with eradication failures (78.6%) than that in those with successful eradication(28.4%) (P <0.01).Conclusions The genotypes of vacA mid region alleles can influence the anti-helicobacter pylori efficiency and has certain predicative value on triple therapy effect.
