The relationship between ethology and contents of CREB of vascular dementia rat

Objective: To observe the changes of neuroethology and contents of CREB in vascular dementia rat model,and investigate their relationship.Methods: Model group rats were performed permanent bilateral common carotid artery ligation(2-VO).Morris water maze and HE staining were used to detected the neuronal damage in CA1 zone of hippocampus,the contents of CREB were detected by RT-PCR and immunohistochemistry and analyzed with image analysis system after 8 weeks.Results: The cognitive function in model group was obviously impaired(P0.01).The contents of CREB in CAl zone was also decreased observably in model group(P0.01).Conclusion: With the 2-VO,we performed the VD model successfully.The expression of CREB in hippocampus of model group rats are decreased remarkably comparing to the normal group rats,which is contributed to the impairment of learning and memory in the rats of model group.
