Positive agrarpolitische Rahmenbedingungen für eineAusdehnung des ökologischen Landbaus aus Sicht derÖkolandwirte

The aim of the study was to find out what is needed for agricultural policy framework from the perspective of organic farmers in Germany so that organic farming increases to 20% as politically intended. Therefore a survey of 92 organic farmers was conducted in the beginning of 2016. For organic farmers a sufficient organic area payment is necessary for a positive development of organic farming and a clear political commitment that there is such a payment in long term. Furthermore is necessary a guaranteed distribution channels for organic produce as well as an increase in demand and affordable consulting services, so that more conventional farmers convert their holdings to organic farming.
