Small-scale rural financial institutions of various types have been an important component in China's rural financial system and have played a significant role. This article, proceeding from the demand perspective and by comparing three typical small-scale rural financial institutions in Zhejiang province, analyzes their market positions, particular duties and functions, and their respective place in the rural financial system.
