Applications of middle infrared surface reflectance from MODIS data

This paper is dedicated to the middle infrared (around 4 /spl mu/m) surface reflectance. Its retrieval is briefly summarized. Results are presented for MODIS observations. Two applications are presented: the separation between emissivity and land surface temperature in the infrared and the detection of fire.
