CEO transformational leadership, collaborative human resource management, and employee outcomes

The purpose of this research was to examine the relationships among chief executive officer (CEO) transformational leadership, collaborative human resource management (HRM) and employee outcomes. It was proposed that, CEO transformational leadership is positively associated with employee job satisfaction, organizational commitment, and work engagement. In addition, collaborative HRM mediates the above relationships. Multiple-source data was collected from human resource managers, middle level managers, and employees among 64 IT firms. Multilevel mediation analysis showed that CEO transformational leadership significantly predicted employee job satisfaction, organizational commitment, and work engagement, through the mediation of collaborative HRM. Implications of this research and future directions were discussed.
