Abstract The influence of experimental conditions on the chemiluminescence (CL) and photoluminescence (PL) in the systems EuX 3 ·6H 2 O–THF–EOC–O 2 (X=Cl, NO 3 ; EOC=organoelement compounds) was studied, including the concentration of europium, additives of luminescent compounds TbCl 3 ·6H 2 O and Ru(bpy) 2 Cl 2 ·6H 2 O, the nature and concentrations of EOC (Bu i 2 AlH, Me 3 Al, Et 3 Al, Bu i 3 Al, 9-borabicyclo(3.3.1.)nonane (9-BBN), diborane B 2 H 6 , sodium borohydride NaBH 4 ), replacement of chloride anion in the EuCl 3 ·6H 2 O salt to an NO 3 , CO 3 , SO 4 , concentration and conditions of the introduction of oxygen into the reaction solution. The quantum yields of CL occurring in the systems EuCl 3 ·6H 2 O–THF–Bu i 2 AlH–O 2 (5.85·10 −4  Einstein mol −1 ) and Eu(NO 3 ) 3 ·6H 2 O–THF–Bu i 2 AlH–O 2 (9·10 −9  Einstein mol −1 ) were measured. The PL quantum yields of the Eu 2+ * ion of the isolated complex EuCl 2 ·(THF) 2 in THF ( φ PL =0.07), in the reaction solutions obtained after the interactions in the systems EuCl 3 ·6H 2 O–THF–Bu i 2 AlH–O 2 ( φ PL =0.51) and Eu(NO 3 ) 3 ·6H 2 O–THF–Bu i 2 AlH–O 2 ( φ PL =0.05) were measured.
