Factores de riesgo cardiovasculares y turno de trabajo en una población laboral

2016
Objective : To describe the behavior of cardiovascular risk factors and their relationship to the shiftwork. Material and method : A cross sectional study of cardiovascular risk factors in 126 factory workers of Coralac S.A. evaluated in the occupational clinic in 2013 was performed. The information was obtained from working history and a survey of the effect with the variables of interest (age, sex, smoking, dyslipidemia, overweight, obesity, sedentary lifestyle). Techniques of d escriptive statistics were used to summarize the information: measures of central tendency and dispersion. X 2 test of Pearson was used for comparison between groups. For data analysis SPSS Statistics version 20 was used. Results : Association between shift work and hypertension, dyslipidemia and smoking (95 %; 0,000 0.01 p=0.02) was found. Conclusions : The study shows clearly as work shift has characteristics and risk factors different from them, this is coupled with a lifestyle that influences the number of modifiable risk factors and therefore cardiovascular risk. It also allows to know the characteristics of the worker and therefore when and where preventive medicine is effective in reducing cardiovascular events.
