Researching the structure of the surface of undoped ZnO thin films by means of Atomic Force Microscopy

Surface characteristics of the amorphous phase composition of ZnO thin films grown by the water-mist-assisted spray pyrolysis method [1] are identified using Atomic Force Microscopy. The AFM phase contrast mode images show (See Figure 1) no homogeneity of the surface structure. White zones in the phase contrast mode images could be correspond to such amorphous phase composition of ZnO thin films. More aspects related with the no homogeneity of the surface structure are also discussed in this work.
