The experimental study of the electrical conduction path block of coronary sinus by radiofrequency catheter ablation

2004
Objective To investigate the method and feasibility of the electrical conduction path block of coronary sinus by radiofrequency catheter ablation. Methods Before and after radiofrequency catheter ablation in proximal or ostium of coronary sinus, low right atrial (LRA) was paced and the activation sequence and activation time of coronary sinus, the activation time between Bachmann boundle (BB) and coronary sinus ostium(CSo),and the activation time between LRA and CSo were measured Results (1)Ablation at the ostium and proximal of coronary sinus could made entirely or partly block of coronary sinus conduction. Before ablation,CSo activated privior to BB.After ablation,BB activated prior to CSo;(2)Coronary sinus was the preferential conduction pathway when pace at LRA.The atrial activation time was delayed from (61.14±8.36) ms to (88.43±19.22) ms by ablation. Conclusion It is possible to block the conduction pathway of coronary sinus by ablation in proximal or ostium of coronary sinus.
