2010
The integrality concerns the articulation between different levels of care, in order to expand access to health care system, and ensure outcomes of care. With that this study aimed to ascertain the views of the coordinators of the Health System of Sobral, Ceara, Brazil about its integrality. The data for analysis were acquired through interviews and organized from the Collective Subject Discourse (CSD). The representations most significant were: DSC “A” – integration from the understanding of health as a right that must be ensured at all levels; DSC “B” – completeness in addition to ensuring the three levels of assistance; DSC “C” – integration is a guiding principle of the Single Health System (SUS, acronym in Portuguese); DSC “D” – as a synonym for completeness intersectionality; DSC “E” – completeness as synonymous of teamwork, and DSC “F” – completeness is the guarantee of assistance. Thus, the completeness relation to actions to promote health, care, rehabilitation and guidance of the citizen to other levels of health care becomes evident, in means of satisfying all their needs.
