Optic characteristics of new promising light-transmitting cover structures of greenhouses

1997
It is shown that in protected soil the application of new greenhouse light-transmitting structures, such as rolled, light-absorbing glass and multiseason films, makes it possible to reduce plant overheating by 5-6% and 7-8% on average in the warm and cold period, respectively, to decrease the polymer consumption and the cover cost by factors 2-4 and 1.5-3, respectively, and to reduce the biosphere pollution with polymer waste by a factor of 2-4 (per year).
