Study on photocatalytic synthesis of pentachloroethane

The application of pentachloroethane is introduced as well as the future market of tetrachloroethylene.The conditions of synthesis of tetrachloroethane and pentachloroethane by photocatalytic chlorination of ethylene chloride followed by gas-phase dehydrochlorination to prepare trichloroethylene and perchloroethylene are established by experiments.The catalytic effect of different light source is compared,the existing problems are found out and the reasons are analyzed.
