Revised renewable resource calculation procedures for the RCS program

Revised residential energy audit methods have been derived for thermosiphon air panels (TAPs) and sunspaces. The basis for these revisions is explained, examples of the results are presented, and the original and modified audit techniques are compared. The differences between the energy savings estimates for the original and revised methods are large. Compared to the new methods, the original techniques estimated TAP performance to be lower by as much as a factor of 2.3, and projected sunspace performance to be higher by as much as a factor of 2.4.
