Design and analysis of hybrid active power filter based on sliding mode control under variable network frequency

2013
This paper presents a hybrid active power filter (APF) based on a sliding mode control strategy. The filter is used for compensation of load harmonics in aircraft power systems with variable fundamental frequency (ranging from 360Hz to 800Hz). The design goal of sliding mode controller and APF's main parameters is the compensation currents could track their references fast and accurately. Besides, it is analyzed that the grid impedances would improve the effect of harmonic suppression yet injecting distortion of the input voltage of non-linear load. Dynamic and steady state effect of the proposed hybrid APF is verified and analyzed by the simulation.
