A method for finding active substances against non-viral microbes, characterized in that potential agents are used in an assay simultaneously incubated together with eukaryotic cells and non-viral microbes that the vitality of eukaryotic cells is determined, and then such active substances are selected in which the signal of the respective test mixture is significantly greater than the average of the infection control at least one concentration of the active ingredient.
