Inthiscontribution wepresent anaccurate investigation ofanintegrated optical polarizer. We evaluate theTM-passproperty foran asymmetrical slabwithan anisotropic cover. We select adielectric multilayer cladding (that behaves as negative uniaxial crystal) basedonSiand SiO2withisotropic core.We thenanalyze thepositive case byusing: i)ascladding manyidentical parallel cylindrical barsofsmalldiameter, surrounded byuniform material; ii) ascoreGallium Arsenide (GaAs). Subsequently, wevalidate themodelby meansofthehybridTLMIE methodand provide design criteria fora ribpolarizer withnegative uniaxial cover. Theproposed polarizer isrealized byusing a single-mode channel. Byutilizing theTM-passing property of theanisotropic coverweselect thepolarization.
