Traffic complexity estimate

A vehicle system includes at least one environmental sensor and a processing device. The environmental sensor is programmed to collect traffic information. The processing device is programmed to receive the traffic information for generating a traffic complexity index, at least partially based on the traffic information, for comparing the traffic complexity index with a predetermined threshold and for generating a traffic warning signal if the traffic complexity index exceeds the predetermined threshold.
