Bronchobiliary fistula in two adult cattle.

A BRONCHOBILIARY fistula results from a process which establishes direct communication between the bronchial tree and the biliary system (Coselli and Mattox 1983, Koch and others 1995). Bronchobiliary fistulae are uncommon in man (Adams 1955, Borrie and Shaw 1981), and the most usual clinical manifestations are of right lower lobe pneumonia, abdominal pain and biliptysis (Lane and Colapinto 1983, Koch and others 1995). In domestic animals only one case has been previously recorded in a three-year-old Charolais cow which presented with weight loss and respiratory signs, including a greenish-yellow nasal discharge (Welker and others 1984).
