Kinetic Model of Silica Dissolution in CaO–SiO2–MgO–Al2O3 Slag System

2019
In order to promote the development of the direct fiber-forming process of blast furnace slag, utilize the sensible heat of the blast furnace slag and reduce environmental pollution, the dissolution rate of silica particles in CaO–SiO2–MgO–Al2O3 slag system was measured, and a kinetic model for describing the dissolution process of silica was established using the macro-kinetic principle. The results show that under the experimental conditions, the dissolution process of silica in CaO–SiO2–MgO–Al2O3 slag system is controlled by its surface dissolution reaction, and the reaction temperature has a significant influence on the rate constant of SiO2 dissolution reaction. The calculated dissolution activation energy is 524.52 kJ/ mol. With the increase of reaction temperature, the dissolution rate of silica in slag increases.
