The present invention discloses a flame retardant PVC cable, which is composed of the following components in parts by weight: 100 parts polyvinyl chloride, 5-20 parts by smoke and flame retardant, 40 parts of a plasticizer, 1 parts of a coupling agent, 5 parts of a stabilizer, 1 part of a lubricant; wherein the smoke and flame retardant is bismuth iron or bismuth and iron in a mass ratio of magnesium hydroxide 1-3 :? A mixture consisting of 19-1. Meanwhile, the present invention also provides a method for preparing the cable of: (a) the above-described components and parts by weight were weighed; (b) the smoke and flame retardant polyvinyl chloride and dried at 80-110 ℃ 1 -3? h; (c) polyvinyl chloride and after drying smoke retardants, coupling agents, stabilizers, lubricants mixed with a plasticizer, stirring evenly, added to a twin-screw extruder to a pelletizer. Scientific and rational formula of the invention, the production process simple and easy to operate, low cost, cable produced has excellent flame retardancy and low smoke properties for industrial applications.
