The method of one polyethylene glycol / alkali degradation using brominated flame retardants

2013
The present invention relates to a method for the degradation of brominated flame retardants, specifically a polyethylene glycol / alkaline degradation method using brominated flame retardants. Under mild conditions, while the presence of additives to polyethylene glycol / polyethylene glycol base to form aryl ethers and aryl ethers of alcohols as nucleophiles and bromine-based flame retardant of the reaction, and then heating the polyvinyl aryl ether generating glycol aryl ether alcohols, and further for degradation of brominated flame retardants, particularly shown in the following formula. The present invention is highly efficient, mild reaction conditions, the reaction product is easy to handle, easy to control operation and low cost.
