Design and measurements of the specialized VLSI circuit for blood oxygen saturation monitoring

In this paper the specialized chip for pulse oximetry measurements is presented. It has been developed as a part of the system for human vital signs monitoring. It allows a non-invasive measurement of blood oxygen saturation basing on the difference in light absorption coefficient for oxygenated and deoxygenated blood (oximetry). The chip has been fabricated in UMC 130nm technology. Measurement results proved proper operation of the designed structure.
