Electromagnetically excited vibration analysis for an asynchronous electrical machine with finite element method

The interaction between electromagnetic field and structure of an electrical machine leads to its electromagnetically excited vibration.In order to evaluate the electromagnetically excited vibration,the electromagnetic field analysis and the structural vibration analysis of the electrical machine should be combined.A weak-coupled method for the electromagnetically excited vibration of an asynchronous electrical machine was presented here based on the finite element method(FEM).Firstly,a 2D FE-model for the electromagnetic field of the asynchronous electrical machine was built with ANSOFT software,and the time-varying magnetic forces exerted on the stator at a given rotating speed were calculated.Then,a 3D structural FE-model of the asynchronous electrical machine was formed with ANSYS software.After analyzing the harmonic response of the asynchronous electrical machine,the harmonics of the magnetic forces were calculated and corrected.These harmonic electromagnetic forces were exerted on the structure of the asynchronous electrical machine and its electromagnetically excited vibration was computed.Based on the analysis of the time-varying magnetic forces and the electromagnetically excited vibration,the electromagnetic parameters and the structure of the electrical machine could be improved and optimized to reduce its electromagnetically excited vibration.
