Characterization of 2.6GHz wireless channel in meeting room scenario using reverberation theory

2016
A novel model of the path loss and power delay profile in a meeting room scenario is proposed. The parameters of the model are estimated from extensive measurements of a wireless channel under Line-Of-Sight conditions at 2.6 GHz. The model is improved by using reverberation theory to characterize relevant properties of primary and reverberant components varying with distance. Furthermore, the model is extended to a joint distance-obstruction-dependent model by including the number of obstacles as a parameter. The results indicate that the proposed model based on reverberation time is more accurate than the power law model. The proposed reverberation model can be used in physical layer algorithm development of future wireless communication system.
